Book Voucher Processing Information
The Bursar has indicated that they will begin processing fall book vouchers on 7-14-23 to eligible financial aid students.
Important information about book vouchers:
A book voucher allows eligible students to charge books against their student billing account prior to the disbursement of financial aid funds. If financial aid is in place and the total amount of financial aid exceeds the student's account balance (after tuition and fees are applied), a student may "opt-in" to request a book voucher. The "opt-in" only needs to be completed once during the academic year.
Prior to purchasing books, students should review their required course materials to ensure they are ordering correct textbooks.
Students are issued one book voucher per semester.
NOTE: It can take several days for the Bursar's Office to process a book voucher once anticipated financial aid has been posted. Students will be notified by MBS Direct (Barnes & Noble College) through their Charter Oak email when the voucher is ready to use. Students should follow the steps in their email to access the bookstore's URL and indicate that payment will be made using the financial aid book voucher.
Books on backorder: A book on backorder can still be purchased using your book voucher. The bookstore will mail the book when it is in stock.
Students who are issued a book voucher, but cannot locate the email, can use this link to have their voucher ID resent.
Office of Early Childhood (OEC) Students:
Charter Oak State College does not process book vouchers for OEC students. This is because funding for books comes from the Office of Early Childhood.
For all OEC book voucher inquiries, please contact MBS Strategic Accounts at (888) 886-3072 or at strategicaccounts@bncservices.com.
Alternatively, OEC students can contact their Charter Oak academic advisor for book voucher assistance.
