Securing your personal data is a high priority for Charter Oak State College and we will soon require you to secure your account access into our IT systems using multi-factor authentication (MFA).  A new law is going into effect Dec 9th requiring educational institutions to implement MFA for all students, faculty, and staff.  This new requirement should also decrease our recent issues with spam emails and phishing attacks.

Currently you can voluntarily opt into MFA, and many of you already have this option turned on, for your account access.  On December 9th, 2022 you will be required to have this feature functioning to access Charter Oak State College systems and IT will be updating our internal settings to make this a requirement for access.

Please review the attached documents or the following page on the My.CharterOak.edu website to find detailed instructions to enable this new security feature:  https://my.charteroak.edu/ICS/Account_Security.jnz

The office of Information Technology will be sending out additional reminders about this new requirement as we get closer to the required implementation date.
