Set Up Campaign Management

J1 Desktop Setup
  1. Access the Staff/Volunteer Role Definition window.

  2. Select Add Row from the right-click or Options menu. A new row is added.

  3. In the Role Code column, enter a code that will identify the role of staff/volunteers.

  4. In the Role Description column, enter a brief definition of the role code.

  5. Click the Save button.

  1. Access the Internet Configuration window in J1 Desktop.

  2. From the Module drop-down option list, select DJ, DE Module Access (JICS Configurations only).

  3. Select the campaign_mgr_role row.

  4. In the Value column, enter the code for the Staff/Volunteer role to be used to display individuals as Campaign Managers.

  5. Click the Save button.

  1. Access the Campaign Definition window.

  2. Locate the campaign to which you are assigning a user to the staff/volunteer role.

  3. From the right-click options, select Edit Campaign Definition. The Campaign Detail window appears.

  4. Select the Staff/Volunteers tab.

  5. Right-click and select Add Row.

  6. From the ID Number column, enter the ID number of the user to be assigned to the campaign.

  7. From the Role drop-down pick-list, select the appropriate role staff/volunteer role.

  8. From the Reports To drop-down pick-list, select the person to whom the user will report.

  9. In the Assignment column, enter any comments about the assignment.

  10. In the Start Date and End Date columns, enter when the user will begin and finish working in this role for the campaign.

  11. Click the Save button.

If the logged in user has access to one or more campaigns through the Campaign Management portlet, they can also view additional details about the individuals associated with a campaign (see the above step to associate individuals to a campaign) and any constituents to whom they may be assigned.

If one or more constituents are assigned to an individual associated with a campaign, the user can drill down through the Campaign Management portlet to see detailed information about the constituent via the Donor Profiles portlet's screens. If you wish to make use of this drill down functionality, you must define a Campaign Contact ID to a constituent.

  1. Access the Work with Relationships window.

  2. Enter a constituent’s ID Number.

  3. Right-click at the top of the tree for the constituent, and select the Biograph Information option. The Biographical Data window appears.

  4. Select the Dev Bio 1 tab.

  5. Enter an ID Number in the Campaign Contact ID column on the tab that is also associated with a campaign. Doing this displays the constituent name on the Campaign Management screens and allows the user to drill down into the Donor Profiles screens to see more details about the constituent.

  6. Click the Save button.

Campus Portal Setup

Configuration settings in Campus Portal can be done by roles with permission to access and administer global and portlet settings.

  1. Log in to the Campus Portal as an administrator and navigate to the Advancement Officers page.

  2. From the Admin Toolbar , click Access. The Access page appears.

  3. Click on the Campus Portal role you are setting up permissions for. If the role has not already been granted access to the page, click the button to toggle it to  Visible.  Additional Advancement Officers permissions appear.

  4. To grant administrative privileges to a Campus Portal role, click the button for the Allow this role to manage this page  permission to move the toggle to "Yes".  Administrative permissions will allow the users in the role to add or remove features and set page and feature level permissions.

  5. From the in Campaign Management they can: section, use the toggle buttons set permissions.

    • To give this user role access to a global operation on the page, click on the button next to the global operation. The button toggles to Yes to indicate that the role now has that permission.

    • To remove this user role's access to a global operation on the page, click on the button next to the global operation. The button toggles to No to indicate that the role no longer has that permission.
