Set Up Ethnicity and Race

  1. Open the Ethnic/Race Report Definition window.

  2. On the Ethnic tab, select the Show on Web checkbox for each Ethnic Category you want to be displayed in the Ethnicity and Race feature. The Default is Y for all categories except Unreported, which is N.

  3. On the Race tab, select the Show on Web for each race you want to be displayed in the Ethnicity and Race feature. The Default is Y for all races.

  4. Save.

Open the Maintain Config Table window and locate the following rows and enter the appropriate configuration value:

If you do not want to display Citizenship options in the Ethnicity and Race feature, enter N.

US is the default and allows the system to validate that if the student says they are a citizen, it can be tested against the BIOGRAPH_MASTER.CITIZEN_OF column.

This configuration allows you to change the text that displays in the Campus Portal for this Citizenship option that maps to BIOGRAPH_MASTER.CITIZENSHIP_STS.

Enter the text that will be displayed in the Ethnicity and Race feature for the Resident Alien radio button.

This configuration allows you to change the text that displays in the Campus Portal for this Citizenship option that maps to BIOGRAPH_MASTER.CITIZENSHIP_STS.

Enter the text that will be displayed in the Ethnicity and Race feature for the Nonresident Alien radio button.

This configuration allows you to change the text that displays in the Campus Portal for this Citizenship option that maps to BIOGRAPH_MASTER.CITIZENSHIP_STS.

Enter the text that will be displayed in the Ethnicity and Race feature for the Citizen radio button.

Set the following configurations to determine which parts (Citizenship, Ethnicity, Race) of the Ethnicity and Race feature you wish to require:

  1. Open the Maintain Config Table window.

  2. Locate the following rows and enter the appropriate configuration value:

    Enter Y if you require the Ethnicity and Race feature user to choose one of the three Citizenship values.

  3. Set the following configurations if you are displaying Citizenship options in the Ethnicity and Race feature and want to display an option for the student to indicate that they choose to not provide Citizenship information in the feature.

  4. Locate the following rows and enter the appropriate configuration value:

  5. Set the following configurations if you are displaying Ethnic/Race options in the Ethnicity and Race feature and want to display an option for the student to indicate that they choose to not provide Ethnic/Race information in the feature:

  1. Log in as the Campus Portal administrator.

  2. From the Ethnicity and Race feature, click the Edit this text link.

  3. On the Edit Intro Text page, edit the Intro Text as appropriate. This text is displayed to students at your school.

    Warning

    Changing the text here changes it in ALL instances of the feature.

  4. Click the Save button.
