Setting Up Student Grade Report

Important

The Student Grade Report feature requires the school to be licensed for J1 Web Student Registration.

Configuring School Defined Grading Period

By default, the Student Grade Report feature displays Final and Midterm grading periods. A registrar can control what options appear in Student Grade Report from the J1 Web Registration Administration hub.

  1. Log in to J1 Web.

  2. Navigate to the Registration Administration hub.

  3. Click the Hub options drop-down. Select Manage registration settings.

  4. In the On this page: section, click Campus Portal Student Grade Report to open the settings.

  5. Click the Display defined grading periods: button to move the toggle it to "On".

Student Grade Report optionally displays narrative or numeric grades depending on what grading structure your school utilizes.  You can turn on these settings in Grade Options.

  1. Log in to J1 Web.

  2. Navigate to the Registration Administration hub.

  3. Click the Hub options drop-down. Select Manage registration settings.

  4. In the On this page: section, click Campus Portal Student Grade Report to open the settings.

  5. Under Grade Options, click the Display narrative grades: button to move the toggle it to "On" or under Grade Options, click the Display numeric grades: button to move the toggle it to "On".

Campus Portal Setup
  1. Log in as the Campus Portal administrator.

  2. Access the page where you want add the Student Grade Report feature.

  3. From the Admin Toolbar Admin Toolbar Icon, click Options. The Options page appears.

  4. Click Add a new feature to this page.

  5. Click Features for Students to view a list of the student features.

  6. Click Student Grade Report. The Options page reappears.

  7. Make any additional changes to the page name, layout or features on the page.

  8. Click the Back to... link to return to the feature page.

When you choose to add the Student Grade Report feature as its own page, it will appear as a link on the sidebar for the currently selected tab.

  1. Log in as the Campus Portal administrator.

  2. Select the tab where you want to add the Student Grade Report feature.

  3. From the left-hand side, click Add a Page. The Add a New Page page appears.

  4. Click Features for Students to view a list of the student features.

  5. Click Student Grade Report. The Student Grade Report page is created.

To use the Student Grade Report feature, students must be granted permission to access it.

  1. Log in to Campus Portal as an administrator.

  2. From the profile drop-down options, select Site Manager

  3. The Site Manager page appears.From the side menu, click the Global portlet operations. The Portlet page appears. 

  4. Select the Student Grade Report feature from the list of portlets. The Global Operations for Student Grade Report appear.

  5. Under the Student role, click the Allow Access button to move the toggle it to "Yes". This will grant student access to the feature.  

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click Exit to portal home to return to your home page.

You can control role-specific visibility options from the feature.

  1. Log in to the Campus Portal as an administrator and navigate to the appropriate feature page.

  2. From the Admin Toolbar Admin Toolbar Icon, click Access. The Access page appears. Campus Portal roles that have access to that page are indicated by a green visible Visible Icon symbol while roles that do not have access are indicated by the red hidden Hidden Icon symbol.

  3. Click on the Campus Portal role you are setting up permissions for. If the role has not already been granted access to the page, click the button to toggle it to Visible Visible Toggle Icon.  Additional permissions appear.

  4. To grant administrative privileges to a Campus Portal role, click the button for the Allow this role to manage this page permission to move the toggle to "Yes".  Administrative permissions will allow the users in the role to add or remove features and set page and feature level permissions.
